STORYTELLING

A performer. An audience. A story to tell. Is the story “told” and “heard” or does it emerge, grow between the teller and the listener?

Workshops with 1st Year students at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.

Exploring a variety of techniques – Rhythm, Chorus, Object, Curtain, Pointing – to discover how best to tell/present that fable of multi-culturalism, the story of Milk & Sugar.

Investigating also the chorus/actor relationship: what characterises the chorus? How does the actor (character) emerge from the chorus? Is their relationship fixed one-way, in the manner of conductor & orchestra?
